FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 — Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) formally endorsed Congresswoman Barbara Comstock’s re-election bid for U.S. House in Virginia’s 10th District.
“In a tough political year, the Republican candidates who will be successful on Election Day are those who want to solve the big challenges facing our country. Voters are demanding action from their leaders on a wide range of divergent issues, and very few have clear-cut solutions. However, when it comes to growing our economy, enhancing our energy security, and preserving our climate, voters and candidates are embracing the promise of clean energy. Today, CRES proudly endorses Rep. Barbara Comstock, who has a proven track record of leadership and support for the clean energy future Americans want and our economy demands,” said CRES Executive Director James Dozier.
“Virginia’s 10th District is home to many leading technology companies and innovative entrepreneurs who are leading the way in clean energy research and development. I am grateful to receive the endorsement of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions, and I remain committed to ensuring the implementation of clean energy policies that can revolutionize our economy and national security. It’s these efforts that will foster job creation here at home and help to maintain the quality of our land, air, water, and climate,” said Rep. Barbara Comstock.
Rep. Comstock’s record on clean energy includes:
- Fought to advance clean energy innovation, technology, and research and development as Chairwoman of the Research and Technology Subcommittee on the House Science, Space & Technology Committee.
- Voted no on an amendment which would have eliminated funding for the ARPA-E program in the FY18 Energy and Water Appropriations bill.
- Co-sponsored the Department of Energy Research and Innovation Act.
- Demonstrated a commitment to promoting clean energy technology as a member of the House Clean Energy and Innovation Working Group and good stewardship of our natural environment as a member of the Climate Solutions Caucus.
